Spirituality, Trauma, and Eating Disorders: Nurturing Renewal of Mind, Body, and Spirit

Course description: This clinical training is focused on trauma and eating disorders, and where illness meets healing. It will consider how a client’s strengths and spirituality can best be utilized to nurture the renewal of mind, body and spirit in the shadow and aftermath of these two conditions. Special themes unique to co-occurring eating disorders and trauma will be considered including adaptive function of eating disorders and the healing of damaged body image, sense of self-worth, and spiritual identity. Presenters will use research-informed approaches, personal and clinical experience, didactic training, and various experiential activities. “Spirituality, Trauma, and Eating Disorders” will provide an overall message of hope for recovery.
